Quayle’s Brewery is a small but growing craft brewery in the hills of Oro-Medonte featuring an outdoor patio, taproom and event space. Quayle’s Brewery is a destination for visitors to the area as well as a gathering place for the local community.

We are seeking highly skilled, friendly, and hardworking Assistant Chef to join our team on a long-term basis (year-round) and be part of our culinary team, set a tone of excellence and professionalism, ensure a consistent delivery of high standard products and be energized to be part of our growth & success. As a small and growing company, we require hard working and dependable team members to learn and grow with our organization. This position is year-round.


Your day to day responsibilities will be to work under the direction of our Head Chef to help direct and manage the culinary excellent standards and operations at Quayle’s Brewery. The responsibilities include, but is not limited to:

  • Providing management, leadership, training and ongoing communication to the culinary team
  • Ensure quality and consistency of our food and exceptional service to all brewery visitors
  • Performing opening and closing procedures
  • Full direction of the food service operations and management of quality assurance
  • Create, develop & implement new innovative and cost effective menu items with our Head chef
  • Manage inventory and ordering
  • Maximize productivity of culinary team
  • Manage food costs and minimize waste of products
  • Monitor and maintain kitchen cleanliness and equipment functioning
  • Perform open or close of kitchen and ensure proper closure procedures
  • Oversee prep is comprehensively complete
  • Assist in the recruitment of new culinary team members


  • A passion for great food and all things craft
  • Proven success as a Kitchen Manager or Assistant Manager in a fast paced environment
  • Previous experience managing a culinary team in a high volume, fast paced environment.Experience with projection and management of inventory, food cost, labour, variable costs and prep charts
  • Proven Leadership Skills – staff development and motivation, technical culinary skills training, policy and procedure management, time management, problem solving/decision making.
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills – Self-motivated &driven, positive with a high energy and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Adaptable, flexible & dependable team player
  • Ability to spot problems and resolve them quickly while maintaining a level head
  • Knowledge of equipment and systemsn
  • Stable job history
