We know… all the snow has melted and we are naming a beer Snowstorm? While we don’t want to reminisce about this past winter (our backs are still sore from all the shovelling!), we wanted the name to explain what we have done to create this Hazy IPA. Our brew crew has taken this beer and it has undergone fractional freezing (the entire tank wasn’t frozen solid) to increase the strength and intensify the hop flavour. It’s the similar principal that icewine goes through to concentrate the flavours in the wine. We have used Citra, Idaho 7 and Ontario grown Chinook for a pineapple, stone fruit and citrus bomb. A nice, concentrated taste profile that will make the snowstorms of the past winter a distant memory!
