Quayle’s Brewery is a farm brewery nestled on 87 acres in the picturesque rolling hills of Oro-Medonte. As an independently owned and operated establishment, we offer a unique destination experience for guests who value community, a farm-to-fresh approach, and a desire for knowledge. Our team is customer-focused and thrives on collaboration. With two floors of indoor seating, a spacious outdoor patio, and a charming beer garden, our brewery provides a welcoming atmosphere for all. All our beer is brewed on-site, utilizing key ingredients sourced from our property. Our on-site kitchen features a seasonal menu showcasing local ingredients, including produce from our garden, and is equipped to handle small catering and group functions. We also cater to special events such as weddings, parties, and corporate gatherings, in addition to hosting outdoor artisan markets, cycling events, and themed gatherings tailored to our diverse range of guests, from pet lovers to cyclists, with live music offered daily.

Purpose and Objective

As a Bartender/FOH team member, your mission is to deliver exceptional guest experiences. Mastery over our rotating selection of 14 taps is key to providing education and engagement to our patrons. You’re not just serving drinks; you’re crafting memories. Ensuring the highest quality in taste and presentation, you will be at the forefront of our hospitality, embodying our standards of service to make every visit memorable.  The Bartender/FOH team member will follow Quayle’s Brewery standards to ensure that products are of the highest quality in taste and appearance, satisfying guests and maximizing bar revenues. Core responsibilities also include cash handling, inventory counts, stocking, cleaning, and organizing. Bartenders/FOH Team Members are expected to be attentive to always guest needs and to create and maintain a welcoming, comfortable, and relaxed environment where every guest feels important and well-attended.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service, greeting guests with professionalism and the warmth Quayle’s Brewery is known for.
  • Team with support staff to ensure seamless customer service and attention to detail.
  • Welcome guests, assist with seating and offer knowledgeable insights on our beverage offerings.
  • Serve drinks promptly and accurately and assist with food service when necessary.
  • Sell cans to go and have strong product knowledge of each style to assist guests.
  • Adhere to AGCO guidelines and verify guest age for alcohol service.
  • Creatively display cans, glasses, and merchandise to enhance the bar’s appeal.
  • Maintain and restock inventory as needed.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of our products, assisting with to-go sales and maintaining appealing refrigeration displays.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, offerings, menus, and promotions.
  • Resolve guest challenges and complaints with initiative and creativity, resorting to supervisory help only when needed.
  • Support events with setup, service, and cleanup.
  • Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time.
  • Assist with events both setting up, stocking bar, bartending and cleaning up at the end of the event.

Qualifications

  • A passion for great beer and all things craft and basic knowledge of wine and spirits
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Smart Serve Certification
  • Age 18 or older
  • Touch Bistro or experience with other similar POS systems is an asset.
  • Prior bartending experience is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively implement written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong team orientation and ability to work with a variety of departments to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Ability to count and accurately make change involving large sums of money.
  • Ability to work well independently.
  • Ability to work well in a high stress, fast paced environment.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations, to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Technology aptitude for working with POS and digital register.
  • Ability to change a keg.
  • Strong skills for persuasive sales, with keen ability to connect easily with customers.
  • Scheduling flexibility to meet operational needs. Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions

  • HOURS OF WORK: Must be able to work evenings, weekends. Must be able to lift heavy objects. Able to work shifts (days/afternoons/evenings) 35 or more hours per week.
  • While performing the duties of this job, an employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and carry approximately 20 feet.
  • Ability to physically walk approximately one-fourth (¼) of a mile and the circumference of the unit several times a day.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme hot temperatures.
  • Employee must be able to work in a cold environment – such as when cleaning walk-in refrigerators.
  • The employee frequently has hands in soapy water and/or cleaning and sanitizing chemicals.
  • Employee must have ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Employee must have the ability to always walk with non-skid shoes.
  • Employee must have the ability to access and produce information on a computer.
