Quayle’s Brewery is a farm brewery nestled on 87 acres in the picturesque rolling hills of Oro-Medonte. As an independently owned and operated establishment, we offer a unique destination experience for guests who value community, a farm-to-fresh approach, and a desire for knowledge. Our team is customer-focused and thrives on collaboration. With two floors of indoor seating, a spacious outdoor patio, and a charming beer garden, our brewery provides a welcoming atmosphere for all. All our beer is brewed on-site, utilizing key ingredients sourced from our property. Our on-site kitchen features a seasonal menu showcasing local ingredients, including produce from our garden, and is equipped to handle small catering and group functions. We also cater to special events such as weddings, parties, and corporate gatherings, in addition to hosting outdoor artisan markets, cycling events, and themed gatherings tailored to our diverse range of guests, from pet lovers to cyclists, with live music offered daily.

Purpose and Objective

As a Busser/Host team member, your mission is to deliver exceptional, consistent guest experiences to ensure our guests have a phenomenal experience. The Busser/Host team member will follow Quayle’s Brewery standards to ensure that guests are welcomed, given proper instructions and attended to as needed

The Busser/Host Team Member is responsible for ensuring that guests receive an exceptional level of service by assisting guests throughout their visit.

Your top priority will be to ensure that the Quayle’s Brewer standards for greeting customers and keeping restaurant tables and surrounding areas clean and presentable to dining room guests are met and that you support FOH and BOH staff as needed

Major/Specific Responsibilities   

  • Between seating’s, promptly clean table tops, chairs and area; Check floor and clean as required.
  • Communicate with host on tables avaiable
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the front of house including all tables, chairs, floors, washrooms & windows.
  • Re-stock condiments, cups, utensils, and condiments, and maintain adequate supplies.
  • Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time.
  • Wash and dry hands frequently.
  • Follow sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and/or dining areas.
  • Follow safety guidelines as outlined in Quayle’s Brewery policy and proecedure guidelines for safe usage of equipment and general safe work practices.

Working Relationships/Contacts  

You will work closely with the FOH Manager, Ownership and Kitchen staff. 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively implement written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong team orientation and ability to work with a variety of departments to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Welcome guests, assist with seating and offer knowledgeable insights on our beverage offerings.
  • Give clear instructions on how to order and where to find things like the washrooms.
  • Ability to work well independently.
  • Ability to work well in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong skills for providing guest service with a keen ability to connect easily with customers.
  • Scheduling flexibility to meet operational needs. Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions

  • HOURS OF WORK: Must be able to work evenings, weekends. Must be able to lift heavy objects. Able to work shifts (days/afternoons/evenings).
  • While performing the duties of this job, an employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and carry approximately 20 feet.
  • Ability to physically walk approximately one-fourth (¼) of a km and the circumference of the unit several times a day.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme hot temperatures.
  • The employee frequently has hands in soapy water and/or cleaning and sanitizing chemicals.
  • Employee must have ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Employee must have the ability to always walk with non-skid shoes.
